Four Lanterns Winery – Summer Concert Series 2016

Four Lanterns Winery is located on the west side of Paso Robles in the Willow Creek AVA. Right down the road from Chanticleer Vineyard Bed & Breakfast. Four Lanterns was the former location of Sycamore Farms which was an herb farm and vineyard created in the 1970’s, and way-back-when poured Bonny Doon wines. A fire burned down the original barn/tasting room/gift shop in 2004. Rebuilt, it eventually became the tasting rooms for Kenneth Volk (Founder of Wild Horse) and Neil Collins’ Lone Madrone. This being said, there were big shoes to fill.

Jackie and Steve Gleason purchased this 35 acre property in 2013 and created Four Lanterns Winery (named for their four daughters). With the herb farm long gone, the Gleason’s have expanded and improved the vineyard bringing the property back to it’s original charm. Their home property, named Jackie’s Vineyard, features  Bordeaux varietals introduced in their Spring 2016 release.  They focus on making estate wines in order to capitalize on the natural strengths of the vineyard. The resulting wines are beautifully complex, balanced, and wonderful to drink.

If you are looking for something to do Sunday afternoons in Paso Robles consider visiting their Sunday Concert Series going on thru August. View their website for Performers and concert times. Their casual outdoor lawn setting is a perfect finish to a relaxing weekend. It would be wise to bring along a blanket or chairs.
